Just another day at the park...

Just a quick pic of the kids at the park. I took them up to the park in the bike cart, which they absolutely love! They giggle the whole way!

The kids swung on the swings for a bit-which Sierra was actually really enjoying, you just can't really tell here :)

Then a sweet little old lady brought her puppy over and Dylan and Sierra chased that little guy all evening. I think both the kids and the pup were pretty tuckered by the end! Just an ordinary day, but oh so much fun!

First Day of Preschool

Well, the big milestone has arrived~Dylan's first day of preschool. Mommy insisted on taking him on his first day. So we were of course running late (as Mommy always is). Here's a quick pic of Dylan eating his breakfast on the way to school. I had full intentions of taking a pic of him outside his class, but this little guy marched right in and didn't look back. Maybe I can get Miss Kathleen to recreate a first day picture when she takes him for his second day tomorrow.
Dylan really enjoyed preschool and his teacher Miss Kitzmiller. The only complaint....Sierra couldn't go with him :) He is going to Wooster Christian and we hope to enroll the kids there through 8th grade. We have just been overwhelmed by the mission of Wooster Grace Brethren Church and are grateful for WCS as another resource in shaping our kids.
So...who wants to buy an eagle card??? :)

Colorado

The kiddos checking out the cockpit...they look pretty good for having rolled out of bed at 4am :)

The kids did excellent on the plane!

Upon arriving in CO, we of course had to go straight to the top of the tallest mountain we could find...

Anticipation

So I'm clearly not a writer...just sharing my thoughts....

Last night, after a nice chat with B and the kids, I almost had to laugh at myself...I was practically giddy over the thought of them being here in just a few days! I am so excited to see them, to hug them and to go out and have tons of fun! I thought how long this trip would feel if I did not have their arrival to look forward to! I am enjoying the scenery, but so much more knowing I can soon enjoy it with my family. Dining alone might be lonesome if I wasn't scouting out places to take the fam when they arrive...everything about this trip is doable and even enjoyable because of the anticipation of my family's arrival...

As I ponder this, I consider how similar this is to the renewed life we find in Christ! Once we become a Christ-follower our problems do not suddenly disappear, we continue to face the challenges of being a sinner in a fallen world. However, we now live in anticipation of Christ's return and meeting our Father in Heaven. Just as the anticipation of my family's arrival has made this business trip doable, even enjoyable...our anticipation of being united with Christ one day in our home in Heaven makes this earthly life doable...maybe even enjoyable! This life is only temporary, Home awaits us on the other side!

Mark 13:32-33
No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, only the Father. Be on guard! Be Alert! You do not know when that time will come.

Matthew 6:19-20
Do not store up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure, there your heart will be aslo.

Here we are...

We are having a great summer! Right now mommy is in Colorado training for her new job and waiting impatiently for Daddy, Dylan, Sierra and Gma and Gpa to arrive on Saturday!! Mommy has a new job in corporate accounting...this change will allow us to spend more time together and focus on the things that really matter in life, like Faith, Family & Friends!!

In July we got to spend a week at Beulah Beach Family Camp. What a gorgeous place and AWESOME experience. The kids loved the beach, hayrides, campfires, and class time with Miss Debbie. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed all of those things as well as worship sessions in the Tabernacle and ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFETS :) Yumm!

We stayed in this cute little cabin - this is about as close to camping as we get...

However, the boys did spend about 5 minutes in their tent....sorry it's so fuzzy it was taken on my phone...
